Tooth Extractions

More Service, Less Dollars

Thanks to the special training Dr. Coray Preece has received, at Universal Dental, we’re able to handle a wider variety of specialty surgical extractions than most other dental offices. Rather than referring you to an expensive oral surgeon, we can take care of everything in-house, giving you both the quality of care and savings you deserve.

Surgical Extractions

Metal clasps holding extracted toothA surgical extraction refers to removing a tooth that has not fully come in yet. This may include a baby tooth that has become stuck while erupting or an impacted wisdom tooth. Often, these kinds of teeth put pressure on the surrounding teeth, which can cause dental pain and even make the teeth shift out of place. Left untreated, they can often develop an infection.

Our practice is able to handle partial bony (where a tooth is partially erupted), full bony (where a tooth is still completely in the jaw), and impacted wisdom teeth extractions all on location at Universal Dental.  No matter the nature of your extraction, our team will use a gentle touch and a generous amount of local anesthesia to make sure you’re comfortable the entire time. If you still feel a little nervous about your extraction despite knowing all of this, we can also provide you with a number of helpful sedation options.

Wisdom Tooth Extractions

X-rays of wisdom teethThe third set of molars, better known as the wisdom teeth, are the last set of teeth to erupt, usually coming in around the ages of 16-25. For most people, they cause a number of problems because the modern human mouth simply isn’t big enough to accommodate these teeth. As they erupt, they can actually push the other teeth out of place, cause dental pain, and even become infected and impacted (stuck).

At Universal Dental, we’ll always keep an eye on your wisdom teeth so we can extract them before they can cause you any issues. However, if you are already experiencing wisdom tooth-related pain, please contact us immediately for an appointment. Your doctor will give you a through oral exam, and then they can perform the wisdom tooth extraction themselves to provide quick relief. With us, you won’t ever have to bounce between different dental offices to get the care that you need.
